The historiographical features of Portugal justify, in great part, the typical dishes present in our country’s menu, which reveal a great connection both to the land and to the sea Portuguese cuisine reflects Mediterranean influences – based on bread, wine and olive oil – also atlantic , as is apparent from the quantity of fish traditionally consumed. The vegetables, the meat, especially the pork, and the sausages make up some of the regional dishes. Our country is known for having a rich and varied gastronomy, being the typical specialties of each region made from local products and ancestral knowledge.
