Santos e Vale opened a new platform in Maia (Greater Porto) on September 15th a structure integrated in the company’s expansion and growth strategy.
The platform has more than five thousand square meters of area. It is inserted in the industrial area of Maia and will process shipments from Maia, Trofa, Matosinhos, Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim.
This new platform “increases Santos and Vale’s capacity for collections and proximity deliveries in this region”, according to the company.
“This platform is equipped with the most sophisticated logistical means that will enable an increase in the processing of shipments in the Maia area, thus allowing an optimization of delivery and collection times in the region”, highlights the company in a statement.
Maia’s platform is Santos e Vale’s 22nd and is part of the company’s distribution, transportation and logistics network, which is composed of 18 cross docking platforms and four logistics platforms.
“As a logistics operator we have to be the pillar of consistency and security in“supply chains”. It is this proximity that sets us apart in the market and that we want to continue to maintain so that our customers can safely grow their business ”, said Joaquim Vale, the director of Santos e Vale.
