The prestigious US publication ‘Wine Spectator’ has awarded 96 points to Sandeman Vintage 2016.
The same Sandeman Vintage 2016 had already been described as “superb” by Richard Hemming, in the well-known wine critic Jancis Robinson’s website, leading to score this Port with 18.5+ – the highest score awarded in the competition Vintages 2016.
Sandeman Porto Vintage 2016 “is an example of the commitment of a secular brand in the production of wines of exceptional quality, which gives it the status of the most awarded Port Wine brand in the world,” Sandeman reports.
It was produced from Quinta do Vau and Quinta do Seixo grapes: 40% Touriga Nacional, 40% Touriga Franca, 10% Tinta Roriz, 5% Tinto Cão and 5% Sousão.
Sandeman was the most awarded Port Wine brand in 2017, with a total of 25 medals in three appraised competitions, where it even won two gold medals and one platinum. In the last five years, this recognition has resulted in 146 distinctions.
“With more than 225 years, Sandeman continues to renew itself, combining – as few do- the commitment of a tradition begun in 1790 with the quality and superior class of its wines”, informs the company in a disclosure note
