The traditional napkins (naperão) that covered the TVs and the tables of Portuguese houses gained a second life on the labels of the Adega Ponte da Barca Vinhão 2019 wine, the most emblematic of that cooperative that celebrates almost six decades.
It was on November 9, at Solar do Vinhão in Ponte da Barca, that the local winery launched its latest wine, Vinhão from the 2019 harvest, taking the time to surprise with a bold and classic new image.
“In the heart of S. Martinho, we inaugurated the new collection with the wine of the most exotic, mysterious and genuine grape variety in the world: Vinhão,” said Luís Pedro, creative director.
José Oliveira, the company’s winemaker, said that “Adega Ponte da Barca Vinhão 2019 has been recognized for decades as a reference in the red wines of the Vinho Verde Region, and this year is particularly extraordinary given the excellent maturation of the grapes. Careful winemaking and few interventions in the cellar contribute to a genuine wine of great character that mirrors the natural conditions of the Lima and Vez river valleys from which come the grapes of our 1,000 members”.
At the end of the event, the president of the AMA Foundation, Dora Brandão, thanked the fact that the winery, following what has already been done in other events, allocates part of the funds to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: “this is a simple and symbolic gesture that illustrates the company’s sense of social responsibility”.
