Quinta de Jugais, a candy and marmalade manufacturer, joined the Zero Desperdício association with the aim of donating products to institutions and associations that help families in need and reduce the company’s waste.
“As part of its environmental and social strategy, the Portuguese brand of production and sale of jams and marmalades Quinta de Jugais joins efforts with the Zero Desperdício association to reduce food waste by donating products to institutions and associations that help families in need”, as mentioned in the statement.
“With the aim of educating and raising awareness among the Portuguese to the problem of food waste and, at the same time, helping those who need it most, Quinta de Jugais is now preventing excess stock products from being wasted and thrown away, having already donated, to date, around 175 kilos of jams and marmalades.
“As a modern company, Quinta de Jugais focuses its vision not only on the food it produces, but also on the welfare of the community, nature and our planet. We believe that the future is green and therefore companies also have a role to play to ensure it for future generations, through strategies that respect the sustainability of the planet. It is our responsibility to guarantee not only quality products, but, above all, that none are wasted”, says Mariana Campos, spokesperson for the Portuguese company.
“Born in the heart of Serra da Estrela by the hand of two brothers, Quinta de Jugais offers traditional products of excellence. With the dream of bringing to people the authentic taste of the region through its own products, it created fruit jams inspired by traditional recipes from several generations, produced based on sustainable practices that respect nature and preserve the authentic taste and nutrients of the best fruit”, concludes the statement.
