The prestigious North American publication Wine Spectator gave 94 points to the Ferreira Porto Vintage 2016.
The 94 points highlight the 250 years old history of Ferreira Porto Vintage with the most valuable historical heritage in the Vintage category, the most desired status of a classic wine for the oenophiles from all over the world.
“Black, opaque color. Aroma of a great complexity and intensity, with black raisin fruits such as the plum and fig. It reveals heather balsamic notes and sous bois, also notes of licorice, cocoa and chocolate, due to an excellent maturation. It is dense and bulky mouth, with well integrated acidity presenting notes of milk chocolate with cherry and an end of great longevity and complexity “- says Luz Sottomayor, Winemaker of Sogrape for the Douro region.
Grapes of Quinta do Porto and Quinta do Caêdo. 45% Touriga Franca, 40% Touriga Nacional, 10% Tinta Roriz and 5% Sousão.
This is a unique moment for the Ferreira brand, with the nomination of great wines born in the Douro but also a crucial moment for Sogrape as one of the great winemakers in the world.
