Some of the harvests that have been integrating several lots of red wines in AdegaMãe are from Quinta de Dom Carlos, in Alenquer. It has been from a portion of the Touriga Franca variety that AdegaMãe’s oenologist finally made this wine in the 2016 harvest in order to assess its evolution in the winery. “The extraordinary wine variety of Douro origin – crucial in the Port and DOC Douro wines – imposes itself to the point of being bottled as a varietal and even part of the emblematic Reserva da Casa lot. Thus is born a new single variety wine, ‘AdegaMãe Touriga Franca 2016’, as well as a new ‘Dory Reserva 2016’, the great highlights in the range of reds that AdegaMãe now launches in the market”, presents the winery.
“We have a wine with structure, but at the same time balanced with the acidity that our Atlantic terroir grants. The tannins appear velvety and the end result is of great elegance”, says the winemaker Diogo Lopes regarding the ‘AdegaMãe Touriga Franca 2016 ’. About the new ‘Dory Reserva Red 2016’, the new blend includes four varieties (precisely Touriga Franca, with Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot). “We continue to take consistent steps in the evolution of a red wine that is already a reference of the Lisbon Region, merging complexity, elegance and freshness. It is a modern wine, greedy, very gastronomic”, he presents.
At the same time, AdegaMãe also launches new editions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot varietals, 2015 harvests, in what was one of the best reds in the history of the winery, which is part of the Ribeiralves Group.
