The ‘Original Baga Bairrada Bruto Reserva de 2017’ was awarded the gold medal at the 17th International Qualitative Confrontation of the Best Effervescent Wines, organized by the Concours des Effervescents du Monde, the world’s most prestigious sparkling wine contest.
PositiveWine sparkling wine is among the best in the world, in a year in which only 23 gold medals were awarded, the national producer reveals. “PositiveWine is once again recognized for the ever-present quality of its characteristic sparkling wines from the Bairrada Region. An example of this is the Original Baga Bairrada Bruto Reserva, an elegant, creamy and balanced wine with a ripe berry aroma adorned with a soft toast”, the company welcomes.
The 2019 edition of the contest was attended by 564 effervescent wines from 22 countries, was composed by a jury of 100 international experts who excel in the rigorous tasting and prove the quality of the sparkling wines worldwide.
‘Original Baga Bairrada Bruto Reserva 2017’ is made from Baga grapes harvested in the vineyards of the Original Winery and has a ripe berry aroma adorned with soft toast.
The 22 is the vertical management of two wineries in the region of Bairrada, the Original Winery and the Four Cravos Winery. The wines are vinified by the company from grapes produced on the properties of its cellars and also from grapes purchased from certified producers in the region.
The vineyards of the Maria-Gomes, Arinto and Bical varieties are planted in different types of soils, including clayey, brown marl limestones and incipient and sandy soils on the most Atlantic coast of the region of Bairrada.
Brands are presented on the market with the ‘By PositiveWine’ seal as a commitment to quality assurance and to take on the company’s institutional responsibility for their products.
