Luís Tadeu Marques is the new president of the Intermunicipal Community of Beiras and Serra da Estrela (CIMBSE). The mayor was elected for this biennium and the vice-presidents will be Esmeraldo Carvalhinho, mayor of Manteigas and António Machado, mayor of Almeida.
The new elected commission thus replaces the mayor of the Municipality of Seia, Carlos Camelo, who held the presidency of the CIM until the end of last year together with vice-presidents Manuel Fonseca (mayor of Fornos de Algodres) and Rui Ventura (mayor of Pinhel).
The executive committee will count on the leadership of the Mayor of Gouveia until 2021, continuing with the mission of “potentiating and promoting the development of the region, optimizing and defending the common interests of the associated municipalities and reinforcing the joint identity of the region by articulating interests and creating synergies and encouraging integrated and collective development, valuing partnerships, creating synergies and maximizing results”.
Based in the city of Guarda, CIM-BSE corresponds to the Level III Territorial Statistical Units (NUT III) of Serra da Estrela, Beira Interior Norte and Cova da Beira. The Municipal Community consists of 15 municipalities: 12 from the Guarda district (Almeida, Celorico da Beira, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Fornos de Algodres, Guarda, Gouveia, Manteigas, Meda, Pinhel, Seia, Sabugal and Trancoso) and three from the district Castelo Branco (Belmonte, Covilhã and Fundão).
