The snack brand Fruut launched a new packaging with less 25% of plastic. And it also launched a new coconut appetizer and two new blends of nuts: apple, coconut and almond and apple with peanuts.
In a press release, Filipe Simões, executive director of Frueat, which owns Fruut, says that Fruut “reaches the market in a more practical and reduced format”. “In addition to being more appealing, the packaging is also more environmentally friendly, with a 25% reduction of plastic in its production, which contributes to a significant reduction of the cardboard used in transportation, since in each box it is possible to place more packaging”, he explains.
The official also said that “they are designing in the medium term, other solutions that allow the elimination of plastic in packaging” and adds that the brand image has also undergone a rebranding. “We created a more appealing, contemporary, young image with vibrant color, able to capture the consumer’s attention. On the other hand, it is with the new image, with design focused on the product, that the Portuguese brand wants to conquer new international markets. That’s why eight languages are present on the packaging”.
The brand launches a new flavor, coconut, and two mix with dried fruit – apple and peanut cubes and apple, coconut and almond cubes. Fruut is headquartered in Porto and the factory is located in Viseu. The snacks are fruit-based, with no added sugar, preservatives or fat. The fruit is cut and baked to dehydrate and become crispy. Pear, red and green apple, pineapple and apple with cinnamon are some of the flavors available.
