Carmim – Cooperativa Agrícola de Reguengos de Monsaraz has just won several awards in two of the most prestigious international wine competitions. The “Reguengos Garrafeira dos Sócios”, “Monsaraz Syrah” and “Monsaraz Touriga Nacional” wines were awarded Gold medal and the “Monsaraz Superior” and “Monsaraz Reserva” red wines were awarded the Silver medal at Mundus Vini. Already in the Berliner Wein Trophy 2019 international competition, the wines “Reguengos Reserva red” and “Reguengos Garrafeira dos Sócios” got their quality recognized while conquering gold medal, and the wine “Monsaraz Reserva” red got the Silver medal.
Carmim was created in 1971 by a group of 60 local winegrowers with the purpose of producing and marketing wine. It currently has about 900 members and corresponding to 3600 hectares of vineyard and has produced quality wines and olive oils thorough the years.
Carmim currently has about 900 members and produces 74 wine references: from whites to reds, from young wines to reserve, to liqueurs, rosé and sparkling wines; also produces brandy and oils of recognized quality.
The company’s wines have been honored with more than 600 awards in several national and international competitions and currently exports to 36 countries, being the Uruguayan market the most recent.
