Carlos Baião Morais, the CEO of SISAB PORTUGAL and owner of “Mundo Português” newspaper, died on 27 July, a victim of a road accident.
The news was as brutal as death itself! It wasn’t yet ten o’clock on a Friday morning, 27 July, like so many others, when someone suddenly in tears shouted in the newsroom with a shocked voice “CARLOS MORAIS DIED”.
It was all strangely dull and numb… The same question kept coming up: “is it confirmed?!” A feeling that isn’t over yet… Nobody felt immediately the real meaning of this death and how much his absence will affect us in our daily lives!
We have lost a great leader, a guide for all of us, someone who focused on achieving the goals, who managed to overcome the challenges and accomplish a path full of difficulties with a pace and speed that few could handle.
The newspaper MUNDO PORTUGUÊS was his passion and SISAB PORTUGAL was his project, therefore he dedicated his life building a strong connection between the two, working in perfect harmony, due to his major aim that he has always dreamed of: the promotion of Portugal worldwide, taking all that is Portuguese to all four corners of the world.
So this is the time when we should all stay together because we have the leader’s dream and project, as well as the responsibility to pursue a reality that cannot die and that will not die for sure. One thing is true: it’s not over yet!
That is why in this hour of pain we want to pay the greatest tribute possible to Carlos Morais, the one he would most appreciate, because it guarantees that his dream will continue and his name will never be forgotten.
