Empresa de Cervejas da Madeira over the past few years has invested in more environmentally sustainable processes. “An important measure in the context of its vision for a circular economy with low carbon emissions and consequently more environmentally friendly”, the company highlights in a press release.
One of the recent measures adopted was the installation, in the entire coverage of its main warehouse, of 2.273 photovoltaic panels with an installed electrical power of 750kw. The panels cover an area of 5000 square meters at the factory and allow an annual reduction of 400 tons of CO2 emissions.
With the installed power in the ECM, of 750kw, the factory is able, in shorter periods of production, to work only with the electric energy produced by the panels.
The size of this installation makes it the second most powerful electric solar energy production facility on the island of Madeira, just after the one installed on land in the Free Zone of Caniçal. “This measure is a natural consequence of the development of an environmental awareness focused on adopting more effective ways of serving the market, in favor of the quality of life for the next generations”, the company points out.
Empresa de Cervejas da Madeira is the largest regional beverage production and distribution company in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
