Conservas Pinhais & Cia, which celebrates its centenary this year, joined the also centennial Leitaria da Quinta do Paço to develop a product that celebrates the date: SnEclair. It is a salty eclair made up of sardines in tomato Pinhais, peppers and green olives and the choux pastry from Leitaria da Quinta do Paço. ‘1920’ is the name of the commemorative eclair, which pays tribute to the two companies that celebrate their 100th anniversary this year. “SnClair highlights the traditional methods that both brands still preserve, resulting in a delicious gastronomic product, for sale at the Leitaria da Quinta do Paço in Matosinhos”, reveals the canning company. The new product can also be purchased at the company’s sellling venues at Bom Sucesso Market and Porto’s Downtown.
“This SnClair is more than a new product. It is a tribute to two companies born in 1920 that are examples of resilience, family values, tradition and quality. Both Pinhais and Leitaria da Quinta do Passo preserve the freshest raw materials and traditional methods to maintain the quality for which they are recognized – a centenary heritage, which has withstood crises, without ever giving in to the temptation to change their processes in order to increase its business value”, says Patrícia Sousa, marketing director at Pinhais.
José Eduardo, CEO of Leitaria da Quinta do Paço, points out that these are two companies “from two fundamental sectors in Portuguese society”: Pinhais, which, maintaining its export characteristic, “again assumes an iconic role in the country’s tourism sector”, and Leitaria da Quinta do Paço, “pioneer in the distribution and pasteurization of dairy products, creator of exclusive products based on the only artisanal whipped cream that still exists”.
Pinhais exports 95% of its production. The largest market is Austria, followed by the USA, Italy, France, Curacao, Aruba, Denmark, the Netherlands. Conservas Pinhais & Cia is present in 27 markets.
