Since late August, the wines produced at Quinta das Cerejeiras, Quinta de São Francisco and Quinta do Sanguinhal in the Lisbon Wine Region have been distinguished worldwide and now have another fifteen gold medals in their history, reports the farmhouse.
The awarded wines are ‘Quinta das Cerejeiras Grande Reserva White 2017’, ‘Sanguinhal Arinto and Chardonnay 2018’, ‘Cerejeiras Lisboa Red 2018’, ‘Peninsula de Lisboa Red 2017’, ‘Casabel Lisboa Red 2018’, ‘Quinta de S. Francisco 20 Year Dry Liqueur ‘, ‘Quinta de S. Francisco White 2018’ and ‘Sanguinhal Touriga Nacional and Petit Verdot 2016’.
Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal was established by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in 1926 to administrate the estates that he owned in the region of Bombarral. At the time, his Sociedade Comercial Abel Pereira da Fonseca owned and operated the largest network of retail outlets in the country – Val do Rio stores, with about 100 stores in Lisbon.
Currently, Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal is dedicated to the exploration of three farms in the Demarcated Region of Óbidos: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras and Quinta de S. Francisco. Located just 40 minutes from Lisbon, they now represent the most prestigious DOC Óbidos wines of this family-owned company.
