The company Oliveira da Serra launched the olive oil that results from the first olives of the year, harvested in the beginning of autumn.
‘Colheita 2019/2020’ “is of limited edition and reflects the freshly squeezed olives therefore having a balanced bitter, spicy and fruity flavor and aroma”, explains the brand in a statement. “An olive oil with a balanced bitter, spicy and fruity flavor and aroma. The 1st edition of Oliveira da Serra olive oil was presented at an event that brought together two important ingredients of Portuguese cuisine: olive oil and bread. This is a limited edition of a unique olive oil, made from the first harvested olives, still young and fresh. The new product is available in the usual stores and at the O’live by Oliveira da Serra space, in Lisbon.
Oliveira da Serra is a brand of the Sovena Group, a family company with 100% Portuguese capital. It has 57 properties in four regions of Portugal totaling more than 10,000 hectares. The centers are located in Ferreira do Alentejo, Campo Maior, Elvas and Aviz. The largest pole in Ferreira do Alentejo has about 3,400 ha and is where the emblematic Oliveira da Serra Mill is located, in Herdade do Marmelo. The Oliveira da Serra Mill pays homage to the Portuguese olive grove. Another mill was opened in Avis In 2013 to respond to the increased production of the company’s olive groves.
