Cerveja Quinas is now distributed by MisterWine, which meets the distribution strategy to pass through a single distributor in the national market. “Hence, Cerveja Quinas comes into the market starting with the Horeca channel, expanding later to the hypermarkets. The beer will reach the market in the options barrel, bottle 33cl and 25cl and can 33cl and 50cl and aims to conquer the Portuguese market”, the company stated in a press release. Within a year, Cerveja Quinas plans to achieve around 3% of the market share of the brewing sector in Portugal.
Cerveja Quinas was launched in February this year during the 23rd edition of SISAB Portugal (International Trade Fair for Portuguese Food and Beverage), held in Lisbon and aims to be the third national player in the sector.
Quinas is a brand of the Domus Capital group, a Portuguese-owned company. The idea came as a need to have another national beer in the industrial segment that may have dimension as part of the products that the Domus Capital group aims to expand.
The name arises as a way to promote Portugal worldwide and the spirit of conquest that Portugal has in its DNA.
“We are an effectively appealing alternative for the consumer who wants to consume a brand with national recognition. Internationally, the image of our brand is the one that best promotes the characteristics of the Portuguese people. In this sense, we promote the name of Portugal and take Quinas far and wide”, as stated in a press release from Domus Capital at the time the beer was launched.
