Last August Cerveja QUINAS (Beer) reached another market, this time in the Asian Continent. The market where beer accounts for 75% of total alcohol consumption, making it the largest beer market in the world: China.
Estimates point to the Chinese market being worth over 700 billion yuan in 2021 (about 93 billion euros), with Cerveja QUINAS being part of these figures as it arrives in China this year and is expected to ship a significant number of containers in the coming months and during the year 2020.
The arrival of Cerveja QUINAS was made possible through a distribution agreement signed with a listed Chinese company, which has always been linked to the distribution of food products in China and which wanted to broaden its product portfolio and introduce itself in the beer segment, betting on QUINAS for this entry. QUINAS’ distributor/ partner in China can reach the various regions and has a secondary distribution network of over 3000 distributors, thus working with QUINAS on various channels.
Portuguese beer is still attractive to the Chinese market if it has the ability to meet the seriousness of the market and the taste of the target consumer. After testing Cerveja QUINAS in China, it was noticeable that it fit the taste of the Chinese consumer presenting our Lager with 5% alcohol, the style of beer most appreciated by the Chinese market. In this sense, QUINAS is already in that market with this recipe in various formats. QUINAS handcrafted references are also being studied and tested in the market for a possibility of entering the Chinese market. In this way, Cerveja QUINAS enters another market, this one being very competitive, but where the brand expects success given all the strategy and partners chosen.
Another opportunity that QUINAS intends to enjoy taking the name of Portugal further but always keeping grounded.
