The three wineries joined together in the seventies to merge definitively in 1987 giving rise to the well-known Caves Santa Marta. In 1998, the wine company Caves Santa Marta was the first cooperative to achieve a vintage, Vintage Port 1998. In 2001 it was considered the Best Cooperative Winery of the Year.
