Casa da Prisca presented the new line of biological products at the 24th edition of SISAB Portugal. The company from Trancoso has been present at the International Fair of the Food and Beverage Sector since the first edition and this year choose SISAB Portugal to present the line “organic, organic products, jams, marmalades, honey and also pastes of olives ” for the first time as revealed by José Manuel Gomes during the event that took place from 25 to 27 February at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon.
Casa da Prisca also presented “organic delicatessen products that have the differentiation factor in the food”, said the commercial director of that company born in 1972 but whose family tradition goes back to 1917. “We have two differentiated product lines: on one hand the delicatessen and on the other the jams and condiments and the special ones for the creative kitchen “, explained the person in charge of the company of Trancoso that already exports to 42 countries.
The range of jams begun about seven years ago, already represents “a very interesting slice” in the total billing “and allowed the company to open other markets besides the delicatessen. The Portuguese importers of the Portuguese communities abroad represent “a very important role” in the scope of the export of the delicatessen, revealed Jose Manuel Gomes, adding that the opening of new markets led the company to create innovative product ranges. “Our delicatessen is very specific and we are committed to provide the traditional poultry delicatessen products to reach a wider level of customers abroad corresponding to designs and market trends,” he said.
Organic products are no longer a ‘fashion’ and have become a trend that has come to stay. Hence the company’s bet on a range of products that are already “a trend, especially in the countries of Europe”. “We are very attentive to this trend. On the one hand it is also a message of innovation that we switch to distribution and to consumers. On the other, we contribute to reducing waste and to the sustainability of the planet, “said the company’s commercial director.
The new biological products were the ones that most aroused attention at the stand of Casa da Prisca in this year’s edition of SISAB Portugal. But there was another range that caught the eye. “Our breed of Bísaro pig, a Portuguese autochthonous breed, was equally curious. The products are produced from animals fed with nuts that we create in our farms and the products have a fantastic taste “, added José Manuel Gomes.
In the edition of this year the company was contacted by importers and several countries, among them China, where they still cannot export delicatessen products. “The agreement reached by the Portuguese Government with Beijing on the export of Portuguese pork meat is only about pieces of the animal, encompasses processed meat and without it we cannot export our pork products to that country,” he lamented .
“Our rulers need to unblock this situation and be able to open borders to all pork products, including processed products,” he warned.
