This year’s the ‘Great Tasting of Montreal’ event is dedicated to Portugal and takes place from October 31st to November 2nd, at Place Bonaventure, in that city of Quebec.
Portuguese businessman and wine producer Carlos Ferreira is the event’s ambassador, alongside sommelier Elyse Lambert.
Settled in Montreal for decades and owner of one of the most famous restaurants in the city – Ferreira Café – Carlos Ferreira is also a wine producer and reveals that at the ‘Grand Tasting of Montréal’ he will present and enable to taste his wine brand ‘ F ‘, produced in its Quinta do Douro and Bairrada. During those days, Ferreira Café will hold several tastings. “I would like to invite the people to discover Café Ferreira’s wine events that week”, says the businessman.
Ferreira Café opened in 1996 and quickly became the best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal. It is a reference for the gastronomy and the service it offers. In addition to being a hymn to Portuguese cuisine, it also has a wine list of excellence, which includes the brand produced by the owner.
With this year’s Portugal theme, the ‘Great Tasting of Montreal’ annually highlights inspiring themes that allow
visitors to learn about a wine region, a variety of wines and a featured product. “Portugal is a country where the notion of ‘art of living’ really stands out – whether through the mythical charm of Lisbon, the wonderful regions of the territory or its Atlantic coasts. It is also the host country and the main theme of this year’s ninth edition of ‘La Grande Dégustation de Montréal’. Known for its exceptional wines, Portugal is all about variety: from Porto to Vinho Verde (Green Wine), from rosé to red varieties, from each region’s varieties to fine wines. They coexist in perfect harmony with the brilliant cuisine of the country, revolving around grilled meat and fish”, praises the organization of the event.
