The Cooperativa Agrícola de Moura e Barrancos (CAMB) kicked off the 2020/2021 olive campaign year on October 19. It is expected that olive volumes will be slightly lower than those worked in the previous year, with high expectations regarding the quality of our olive oils, CAMB reveals.
This campaign year takes place in an atypical year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “The Cooperativa Agrícola de Moura e Barrancos assumed, since the beginning of the pandemic situation we are currently living in, its role in the defense of its partners, its social heritage, its olive heritage and the region itself of Moura and Barrancos”, CAMB underlines in the same press release, adding that the normal functioning of this cooperative, was “absolutely crucial” so that national distributors “could ensure that the essential food reached Portuguese homes”.
The Cooperative, which is one of the largest suppliers of olive oil in the national market, has already received several international awards for its products this year. ‘Azeite Seleção’ won the Silver medal at ‘Olive Japan’, the ‘Best Retail Design Evooleum’ in Madrid and the ‘Prestigio Oro’ and ‘Presentación’ awards at Olivinus in Argentina. ‘Azeite de Moura DOP’, on the other hand, was awarded a Silver medal at ‘Olive Japan’. He also received a Silver medal in the ‘Packaging Design’ category at the ‘Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition’, and a Gold medal at the National Olive Oil fair in the ‘Moura DOP’ category. CAMB also saw its ‘Moura DOP Biological’ awarded with ‘Gran Prestigio Oro’ at the Olivinus competition in Argentina.
