Burmester has launched four new wines – two white wines from the 2017 harvest and two red wines from the 2016 and 2017 harvests. The DOC Colheita Burmester and DOC Tavedo also debut the new image of Burmester House.
“The main challenge was to reconcile the long history, dating back to 1750, with the concepts of elegance and sophistication that have always been associated with it,” announces the Sogevinus Group which holds the centennial brand. The new image follows a graphic line and a color code that contribute to reinforce brand values.
The range ‘Tavedo’ is presented to the market for a more immediate and relaxed consumption under the seal of the Burmester House. “Respecting the terroirs of the Douro Superior Cima Corgo and transmitting the character of the traditional grape varieties to the wines of the region” were the objectives of Ricardo Macedo, oenologist of Sogevinus Fine Wines DOC wines.
“Our goal is to have a minimal intervention in these wines, in which we preserve the purity of the fruit and the serenity of the schist soil,” he says.
The ‘Burmester Tinto 2016’ was made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz grown in shale at altitudes between 250 and 400 meters. The ‘Burmester Branco 2017’ is a blend of Malvasia Fina, Gouveio and Rabigato from vines between 300 and 550 meters high.
‘Tavedo Tinto 2017’ blends Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional while the ‘Tavedo Branco 2017′ is made from Malvasia Fina, Gouveio, Rabigato, Folgazão and Cerceal.
