In this second edition the awards are subordinated to the themes: Wine Tourism, Viticulture, Oenology and Revelation and highlight projects that are of reference in the Douro Demarcated Region.
Quinta da Foz Ceira and Quinta da Costa de Baixo have been producing excellent grapes for centuries with historical data prior to 1256. These two estates are located at the confluence of the Ceira and Douro rivers in the heart of the oldest Demarcated Region, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
The right bank of the Douro River has always been the source of excellent wines, in the Cima Corgo region.
“The edaphoclimatic conditions of this region guarantee the highest potential quality rating in Douro. Year after year the old vineyards composed of a huge variety of indigenous grape varieties from the region, as well as the Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grape varieties produce grapes of excellence allowing to obtain concentrated, complex, high quality wines”, says the company on its website.
The production of wines is made in small batches which seek to capture the specificities of the various vineyards and grape varieties. Bulas intends to guarantee a continuous increase in quality and future sustainability combining traditional techniques with the latest knowledge and innovations.
