Wine Enthusiast – the North-American publication – distinguished the Borges Reserva Douro Red 2015, launched in end of the last year by the Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges, with 91 points (on a scale of 0 to 100).
The Borges Reserva Douro Red 2015 integrates a range of four reserves that reached the market in November 2018. “This is another important step for the Portuguese insignia. The recognition beyond borders, through renowned publications like ‘Wine Enthusiast’, is a very important issue to reflect the rigor and quality of wines”, the company states in a press release.
Vinhos Borges have been on the market since 1884 and today they are in 60 different markets, with the best scores contributing to the wines being at the top of minds of foreign consumers. The Borges Reserva arrived on the market with a new image in October 2018.
The Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges was founded in 1884 by the brothers Antonio and Francisco. Soon began to be transformed into a national wine company. The company is present in the main Portuguese demarcated regions with three reference farms: in the Vinhos region Verdes, a Quinta de Simaens; in the Douro, in Quinta da Soalheira and in Dão in the Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira.
Following the route and tradition of the wine-making regions of excellence – Vinhos Verdes, Dão and Douro – Borges produces several quality brands in different sectors, an offer made possible thanks to the estates that certify the character of these wines. The harmony of the DOC table wines gathers the aromas of Port wines, the freshness of the sparkling wine and the vitality of rosé wines.
