Adega Cooperativa de Azueira has launched two wines inspired by the 18th century: ‘D. João V ‘and ‘Capricho do Rei’, who intend to honor a sumptuousness and refinement of the king’s banquets, as explained by the company.
The market launch of ‘Capricho do Rei’ and ‘D. João V’ “exactly on the month we complete our sixtieth anniversary, it is the reflection of this mission that we assume on da daily basis and the result of a journey that we’ve been crossing in the last two years, aiming to become more and more competitive, in the foreign market”, highlights José João Moreira, president of Adega de Azueira.
The ‘Reserva D. João V’, is a luxury wine, available in the red and white versions and promises an intense and surprising palate. It is a wine of violet color and fruity profile that contains aromas of black plums, wild fruits and notes of spices. The white wine presents itself with a good structure and is balanced between the fresh fruits of Fernão Pires and the ripe fruit of the Chardonnay.
Harmonious and elegant, the ‘Capricho do Rei’ red wine made from the Syrah grape variety has an intense aroma of ripe red fruits and balsamic notes with a unique and intense taste.
To commemorate its 60 years, Adega de Azueira was created in one of the regions of Portugal with greater wine tradition, having produced around 10 million liters of wine, being 85% red and 15% white. Today, has about 400 partners and the production area of its grapes is around the 1200 hectares of vineyards.
