‘Monterosa Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ and ‘Selection’, are produced by Azeite Monterosa in Moncarapacho, Algarve
‘Monterosa Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ produced in Moncarapacho, Algarve, won in April gold medals for all single vineyards – Maçanilha, Cobrançosa, Verdeal and Picual – held in New York, USA. ‘Selection’ has also been awarded a gold medal, which includes a mixture of varieties.
More than 900 olive oils from 27 countries took part in that event. “It is already the sixth consecutive year that Monterosa Olive Oil can achieve the gold medal in the New York international competition. This shows the sustainability of product quality and excellence and its visibility and recognition at an international level “, congratulate the directors for the company, José Dâmaso and Eduardo Martins.
Monterosa had already won prizes in an international competition in Japan, collecting five gold medals, this time for the three single vineyards Maçanilha, Cobrançosa, Verdeal, for the ‘Selection’ and also for the new top-quality olive oil launched this year ‘Horta do Felix’.
It should also be noted that the ‘Verdeal’ was also awarded the Special Award Medium Intensity. The ‘Picual’ was awarded a silver medal. More than 600 olive oils from around 25 countries participated in this contest.
This new olive oil combines a selection of cultivated varieties, “very elegant with intense fruity aroma on the nose and a slight bitter and spicy, with notes of nuts in the mouth”.
