Like 2016 and 2018, ‘Esplendido Douro’ olive oil was once again awarded as one of the best olive oils in the world in the ‘NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition’. NYIOOC is one of the most important international contests centered on the so-called ‘Ouro Verde’.
Held every spring in New York, it is the largest and most prestigious olive oil contest in the world and its annual list of winners is considered the official guide to the best extra virgin olive oils of the year.
Among the several trophies won which confirm the excellence of olive oil produced in Portuguese lands, the ‘Esplendido Douro’ won this year another “gold prize”, confirming it as one of the best in the world in its category.
This olive oil is produced and bottled in a single estate in the historic Trás-os-Montes region, in the Douro Valley, on a unique rocky terrain with the various climates in this protected area of cultivation and ideal for growing olives.
The combination of a “unique climate of the region, rich soil, centuries of growth and harvesting experience as well as an art technology of pressing and bottling” allows to create “one of the best in the world naturally tasty oils with low acidity “, highlights the producer.
