In the year that celebrates its 65th anniversary, the Agricultural Cooperative of Moura and Barrancos (CAMB) is launching its latest and innovative novelty: DOP BIO 750 ml Azeite de Moura (Olive Oil) that will be presented in the first bottle of the market to be 100% recycled and 100% recyclable.
According to CAMB Marketing Director Henrique Herculano, “Traditional packaging is usually just a means for companies to bring their products to consumers. However, this packaging is rarely reused or recycled and eventually discarded. Therefore, CAMB opted for the use of recycled packaging, “ensuring that the material of our new bottles has not been discarded, but converted back into new packaging, as safe to protect olive oil as sustainable”, added the official. This measure, “which is new worldwide”, makes DOP BIO 750 Azeite de Moura to be marketed in the first recycled and also recyclable bottle, thus helping to move towards the one that, according to Henrique Herculano, “seemed to date a true utopia: the absence of packaging”.
The change of packaging does not incur any extra cost to consumers of DOP BIO 750 ml Azeite de Moura, who will continue to find this olive oil at the same price and in the usual places.
CAMB was founded in 1954 to provide a competitive response to the olive oil processing of its founders’ olive productions.
It accommodates an average annual production of over 35000 tons of olive from 22000 hectares of olive groves from 1200 co-workers, turning it into over 7 million kilograms of virgin olive oil each season.
