The company Fonseca Import-Export was founded by Fernando da Fonseca on August 29, 1984, at Plessenstraße in Hagen, Germany. On October 13, 1986, the company moved to Berliner Straße 2 and is now located in new bigger and attractive commercial facilities at Karlstraße 24 in Hagen Haspe.
On August 1, 1988, Fernando da Fonseca handed over the management of the company to brothers Armando and Fernando Lopes. So far, the Lopes brothers lead the Portuguese products market – to which they add Spanish and Brazilian products – in Germany, with a portfolio of 5,000 products.
In addition to the physical space Fonseca Import-Export also has an online store with foreign specialties, food, wines and spirits from Portugal, Spain and Brazil, as well as seafood products.
Fonseca Import-Export is a specialist in Portuguese wines among other products.
