Mineraqua, owned by the Central de Cervejas e Bebidas (SCC), and the Municipality of Moura signed the protocol for the creation of the route “From Castello to Pisão”, an initiative that aims to promote culture and tourism in the Municipality of Moura.
This protocol aims to show the diversification of the municipality’s tourist and cultural offer, through activities that contribute to the valorization of the water resource and to the knowledge of the historical importance of the Castello brand in the experience of the city of Moura.
With 120 years of history, Água Castello, produced in Moura and managed by Mineraqua, has a strong connection to the community and aims to increase its contribution by promoting tourism and well-being to all who visit this region.
The route “From Castello to Pisão” intends to celebrate this same memory and the connection of Água Castello to Moura, passing by important landmarks, such as the Castle, the aquifer area or the old water exploration unit.
Nuno Pinto de Magalhães, Director of Communication and Institutional Relations of the SCC Group, considers that “This protocol is the concretization of the proximity policy that the SCC Brands, including Água Castello, have with the communities. There is a centuries-old relationship between Água Castello and the community of Moura and it is our duty to nurture that relationship and contribute to the cultural and social development of the region, as well as for those who visit them”.
The route will usually have two monthly tours guided by technicians from the Municipality of Moura, and registrations must be made with the Municipality.
January 14 was the day chosen for the signature, since it was precisely on this day of 1899 that the Moura City Council signed the exclusive contract with Julio Maximo Pereira and António de Assis Camilo, for the “export of mineral-medicinal waters” then Vila de Moura, where Água Castello began to take its first steps.
Agua Castello has its filling unit in Pisão, Moura, in the Alentejo, an ecosystem that gives unique and differentiated characteristics to this carbonated natural mineral water.
Schedule a visit to see the origins of Água Castello, a unique opportunity to learn more about this century-old Portuguese water.
