AdegaMãe presented a new single-varietal wine, ‘AdegaMãe Touriga Franca 2016’, as well as a new ‘Dory Reserve 2016’, the highlights of the red range that AdegaMãe now launches in the market.
“Touriga Franca is the backbone of Port and many CDO Douro wines and turns out to be much more than a blended variety, with some excellent examples of varietals in the country and with this very particular expression in our Lisbon terroir, which very much surprised us”, says Diogo Lopes, quoted in a press release. The winemaker of AdegaMãe also says that the “best tribute to the way it was imposed, in the vintage and the evolution in the cellar, was to put it in a bottle, right from the start as a varietal”. “But we were so excited that we came a long way as to include it in our Dory Reserve blend,” he adds.
About ‘AdegaMãe Touriga Franca 2016’, Diogo Lopes presents it as “a wine with structure, but at the same time balanced with the acidity that gives it our atlantic terroir”. “Velvety tannins and the end result is of great elegance,” he says. About Dory Reserve Red 2016, the new blend includes four varieties – Touriga Franca, with Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
We continue to take consistent steps in the evolution of a red wine that is already a benchmark of the Region of Lisbon, merging complexity, elegance and freshness. It is a modern, greedy, very gastronomic wine”, he reveals.
