Testimonies of the Portuguese exhibitors
MARTA SANTOS / PEDRO MAIA LIPORFIR Liporfir is a family company which works with the dried salted codfish and we are located in Aveiro. We count on export of our products that is around 5% of our current volume of sales. How is the Trade Fair going? This is the first time we are at this event and we have a very positive feedback as we have made lots of contacts and we felt that importers remained satisfied with our codfish. We have made lots of contacts with importers from Brazil and developed connections with the markets of the countries with a big number of Portuguese migrants. What is more, we had contacts with the buyers from Macao, Japan, Austia and Canada, the countries that count on import of codfish of a really good quality of Liporfir. |
SUSANA TORRES SOLAR DO LOUREDO We are presented at some markets such as France or Germany, but we would like to reach the markets of the Northern Europe and Brazil. We have made contacts with some Brazilian and North-American importers, and these are the markets we are going to start working with all our dedication. In spite of the fact the company Solar do Louredo is a quite recent one (only two years), we produce the best Vinho Verde in the country, and we have already received medals in Brussels and Vienna in Austia. How is your participation going? We were very surprised already at the beginning of SISAB PORTUGAL. Only during the first morning we made contacts with about 30 importers and we had times when we were talking with two buyers at the same time. For us it was just excellent, because we already had high expectations, but this rhythm surpassed a lot what we were expecting. It went very well, better than we expected. We have already confirmed the participation for the next year edition with a bigger stand.
FILIPE RAMOS RANGEL This year Rangel was presented for the first time at SISAB PORTUGAL and I can tell that we liked a lot the concept of this event. We have made lots of contacts, and lots of them were the promising ones. We are a company providing links for connections for the companies of the food and beverage sectors and that is why the contacts with the exhibitors were very positive and useful. We have the benefit of having some clients from Africa which also provide us with the contacts of suppliers. This was the first time at SISAB PORTUGAL as the food area is a relatively new one for the Rangel Company. Taking into consideration the abovementioned, we consider that it was important to be present here. Everything leads to the conclusion the stake at SISAB PORTUGAL is to be maintained. |
NUNO TAVARES CERES The Ceres Group is a company celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2015 and because of the initial origin from the North of Portugal, we have already some representation at the Spanish market (Galicia). With the brand of Perola we are also at the Portuguese-speaking African countries, with a great emphasis on Angola, but also at Cabo Verde, Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe. In such a way, Angola and Spain are our strongest markets and they have the biggest volumes in our business. Did you plan an active and strong participation at this SISAB PORTUGAL. Why? In fact, this is our first time at SISAB PORTUGAL. This year we felt the necessity to be exhibiting with the own brand as we have been growing during the recent years quite rapidly and we believe that it is reasonable to continue to rely on the markets for further export. Our participation at SISAB PORTUGAL was very positive; we have made a lot of contacts not only with the Portuguese-speaking African countries, but with countries with a big number of Portuguese migrants, such as markets of Belgium and Luxemburg. The importers from Egypt were a great surprise at this Trade Fair, as if to consider the fact this country is the biggest world wheat importer, it could be a good opportunity for the future business. We are sure to be back at SISAB PORTUGAL during next editions; this is an objective to be kept. |

JOÃO SANTOS REI DOS FRANGOS This is the first time we are at SISAB PORTUGAL. We are a company of restaurants and grilled products from Leiria, and we export such products as fried chicken, codfish with cream or duck rice to the UK, Germany, France and Switzerland. What is the share of export within your company? We just export in small quantities, but the Trade Fair is going very well, the buyers enjoy our frozen fried chicken, a world innovation, and now we are to do the follow-up of the contacts made. This was the objective of this SISAB PORTUGAL. |
DUARTE MATOS FÁBRICA DE TORTAS AZEITONENSE We have renewed facilities, with a new factory and a great production potential. We export in small scale. We are at the markets of Germany, England and Luxemburg, but want to go much further. What markets are you interested in? We are looking for the new markets. Our products are well accepted by markets, this is very important. We have made lots of contacts at this SISAB PORTUGAL. We have some contacts via phone and facebook asking how to get access to our products. A Torta de Azeitão is probably the most popular product. Our internal market activities fell a lot. We really need to look for new markets... |
